Rano Karno Highlights Flood And Reforestation Problems In Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta

JAKARTA - Candidate for Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno or familiarly called Bang Doel wants to increase reforestation to deal with climate change in Jakarta as one of the programs he carries if elected later.

"This means that reforestation of the city, green open space must be increased to reduce greenhouse emissions, which are said to be carbon," said Rano in the Lebak Bulus area, South Jakarta, Monday, September 2.

Rano said this was at one of the residents' residences where the soap opera "Si Doel Anak Sekolahan" was shot on Jalan Cambodia Kampung Karang Tengah RT 08/08, Lebak Bulus, Cilandak, South Jakarta, which was often affected by floods.

He admitted that flooding had become a classic problem. Moreover, now there is also a change in the dry season due to climate change.

"Maybe within three years there will be no major flooding like in 2007, because climate change is happening," he said.

Therefore, he highlighted the need for enlargement of drainage to accelerate the receding of inundation.

"This Krukut River talks about the trajectories that can come from Grogol of all kinds. This means that now the drainage must be enlarged," he added.

Meanwhile, a mother named Sabar (65) said that the location of her previous house was often flooded in 2007. However, all of this has been resolved by building embankments during the leadership of Anies Baswedan.

He hopes that this good performance can be continued by Pramono Anung and Rano Karno if elected to lead Jakarta.

"I chose Bang Doel because it's good to have a governor in his house near," said Sabar.

Pramono Anung and Rano Karno were promoted by the PDI-P and Hanura as Candidates for Governor and Deputy Governor of the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

The other candidate pair (paslon) who will fight in the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election are Ridwan Kamil-Suswono who was promoted by the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) plus and from the independent path Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana.

Pramono-Rano is listed as the first candidate pair for Cagub-Cawagub to register at the DKI Jakarta KPU.

The registration of the DKI Pilkada is in accordance with KPU Regulation Number 2 of 2024 concerning the Stages and Schedules for the Election of the Governor and Deputy Governor, Regent and Deputy Regent, as well as the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of 2024.
