New Period, DKI DPRD Highlights Tax Revenue Still Leaked

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta DPRD for the period 2024-2029 has started working to carry out its budget oversight function. A member of the DPRD from the PKS faction, Khoirudin emphasized, one of the problems that must be resolved urgently is the projected original regional income (PAD). Based on the performance of regional finances while serving as Deputy Chairperson of the 2019-2024 DKI DPRD, Khoirudin assessed that the realization of regional taxes has not been maximized because it is often leaked. "Our tax revenue potential must be maximized. Currently the target is not in accordance with the potential. There is a leak here and there, we will solve this,” Khoirudin said in his statement, Monday, September 2. It is recorded on the bapenda.jakarta.go.id website, the realization of DKI Jakarta tax revenues from January to June 2024 has only reached 34.89 percent or Rp. 19.10 trillion from the target of Rp. 54.75 trillion. Rp19.10 trillion consists of three types of regional income. Each of them is Regional Tax Revenue of Rp16.83 trillion, Regional Retribution of Rp209.67 billion, and Other Regional Original Revenue (LLPAD) of Rp2.06 trillion. On that basis, Khoirudin demanded that the DKI Provincial Government increase tax realization. Given, Jakarta will transform into a Global Business City. One of the efforts to suppress the Jakarta PAD leak is to evaluate the tax revenue system, to make breakthroughs on how to collect taxes.

"We reviewed the “System and carried out strict monitoring in order to find out and immediately resolve the leakage of income," Khoirudin explained.
