JAKARTA - The chairman of the East Java PDIP DPD, Said Abdullah, stated that his party had decided to carry Tri Rismaharini-KH Zahrul Azhar Asad (Gus Han) as a candidate for Governor and Deputy Governor of East Java 2024. Said emphasized that the Risma-Gus Han pair would be resik-resik aka clean East Java.

According to Said, the couple Risma and Gus Han represent a cultural pattern in East Java. He said, Risma is a nationalist representation, while Gus Han represents students. "Bu Risma represents women, and Gus Han represents young people. Mrs. Risma represents a long-period figure in her career in public office, and Gus Han represents intellectuality. So they are both complementary couples," Said said in his statement, Thursday, August 29. Said revealed, today the Risma-Gus Han pair will be officially registered by PDIP at the East Java KPUD. He believes that the Risma-Gus Han pair will bring government in East Java more trustworthy to the people. "Maris, as the base area of santri, but his government has recently been in the Obok-obok of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). If his government is not trustworthy, and dishonest, it is difficult for East Java to be more advanced," Said said. Said also believes, with Risma's experience fixing Surabaya and her duties as Minister of Social Affairs, it will be able to reduce poverty rates in East Java more quickly.

"The sign that East Java has not progressed, even though it has abundant natural resources, poverty in East Java is higher than the national one. Poverty in East Java reaches 9.79 percent, while poverty is at the national level of 9.03 percent," explained the legislator for the Madura electoral district, East Java.

The chairman of the Banggar DPR hopes that this year's regional election, especially in East Java, can take place honestly, fairly, democratically. As well as being a place of battle for achievement and ideas. "It was enough during the legislative and presidential elections yesterday as a bitter experience. We should no longer choose a leader because of basic necessities and money. If that is the basis, his government must be corrupt. It is known that Tri Rismaharini is the Mayor of Surabaya for two periods 2010-2020.
