Supported By 8 Parties, Wayan Koster Optimistic To Win Against De Gadjah In The Bali Gubernatorial Election

DENPASAR - The party supporting the cagub-cawagub Bali I Wayan Koster and I Nyoman Giri Prasta visited the Bali PDIP DPD office, in Denpasar, to provide a letter of recommendation for support to Wayan Koster and Giri Prasta.

Koster said there were 8 parties supporting him with Giri Prasta, namely the Hanura Party, Perindo Party, PKB Party, PPP Party, PBB, Ummat Party, Gelora Party and Labor Party.

He is optimistic that he will win the Bali gubernatorial election because of the vote in the Legislative Election (Pileg) from his supporting political parties.

"Based on the vote acquisition for the legislative election for the Provincial DPD, the total is 62 percent or more than 61 percent. This one (coal party) does not exist (in the DPR), all of them are non-parliamentary," said Koster, Wednesday, August 28.

"But, I am grateful and happy, because these eight non-parliamentary parties are very compact and very enthusiastic, taking the initiative with good intentions to support the candidate pairs promoted by PDIP," he added.

In the Bali gubernatorial election, Koster will face his competitors from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) plus in Bali, namely Golkar, Gerindra Party, Democrats, NasDem, and PSI.

This coalition carries Made Muliawan Arya alias De Gadjah, and Putu Agus Suradnyana (PAS) as candidates for governor and deputy governor in the 2024 Bali Pilkada.

De Gadjah is the chairman of the Gerindra Bali Party DPD and the elected candidate for the Bali DPRD 2024.

Meanwhile, Putu Agus Suradnyana is a former Regent of Buleleng for two terms and former Chairman of the DPC PDI-P Buleleng, who was fired from PDI-P for running as De Gadjah's partner.

"If the target is to win. You don't have to talk about percent, just win first," said Koster.

Koster also said that he and Giri Prasta would register with the Bali General Election Commission (KPU) for the gubernatorial election on Thursday, August 29.
