JAKARTA - The Corruption Court at the Mataram District Court (PN) stated that the former Principal (Kepsek) of SMP Negeri 4 Bayan in North Lombok, Hamdan Yusuf, was proven to have corruption in the Indonesia Smart Program (PIP) funds for the 2018-2019 fiscal year worth Rp124 million.

"The trial, stated that the defendant Hamdan Yusuf as the Head of SMP Negeri 4 Bayan was proven to have committed a criminal act of corruption continuously in distributing PIP funds for the 2018-2019 fiscal year," said the chairman of the panel of judges, Isrin Surya Kurniasih, reading out the verdict. the defendant's sentence at the Corruption Court at the Mataram District Court, Wednesday, August 28, confiscated by Antara.

The judge stated that the defendant's actions had been proven to have violated the alternative charges of the two public prosecutors relating to Article 8 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

By stating that he was proven guilty of violating the alternative charges of the two public prosecutors, the judge sentenced him to 4 years in prison with a fine of Rp. 150 million, subsidiary to 4 months in prison.

In addition, the judge also imposed an additional penalty in the form of compensation for state financial losses worth Rp. 124 million, subsidiary to 1 year in prison.

In the description of the verdict, the judge said that the defendant had been proven to have used the proceeds of a criminal act of corruption for personal gain by not making a report regarding the use of funds sourced from the APBN.

After reading the verdict, the judge gave the public prosecutor and defendant the opportunity to determine the attitude of submitting further legal action or accepting the verdict for 7 days from the reading of the verdict.
