JAKARTA - United States National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan arrived in Beijing, China, to begin a three-day visit amid rising diplomatic tensions between the two major global powers, China CentralTelevision (CCTV) reported.
Sullivan was greeted by the Director General of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs for North America and Oceania Yang Tao, and US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burn at Beijing Airport, the Chinese Government's broadcast media reported.
Sullivanini's visit was the first by US national security advisers since eight years ago, and this was seen as preparation for the next summit between President Joe Biden and President Xi Jinping.
