Bahlil Claims Prabowo Has No Problem Golkar Carrying Airin-Ade In The Banten Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - General Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia, claims that Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto and Gerindra Party Daily Chair Sufmi Dasco Ahmad have no problem with the decision of his party which now supports Airin Rachmi Diany-Ade Sumardi to run in the 2024 Banten Pilkada. With Golkar's decision today, Golkar automatically revoked its support for the candidate pair from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM), Andra Soni-Dimyati Natakusumah. According to Bahlil, Prabowo and Gerindra officials will definitely respect the sovereignty of their respective parties. "I think Pak Prabowo and Pak Dasco are great figures in this nation and want to prioritize the progress of the nation," Bahlil said at the Golkar Party DPP Office, Slipi, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 27. Bahlil assessed that differences between political parties were normal. Because, he said, the more candidates, the more benefits will be given to the people. “ We feel that supporting pair A or pair B in that one party has so far (occurred) the dynamics continue. There is also party A has used recommendations, tomorrow it will be canceled again and it has happened since the direct election. So this is not a new item,” he said.

Bahlil also emphasized that KIM would remain solid even though Prabowo released coalition members to take their respective political stances. “ I don't think there is a problem and that is not a matter of debate,” Bahlil said.
