Asking Prabowo to Complete Revision of Presidential Decree 33, Cak Imin: I Understand Very Well That Legislative Candidates Leave Debts Here and There

NUSA DUA - Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) admitted that he would ask Prabowo Subianto, when he officially takes office as President of the Republic of Indonesia, to complete the revision of Presidential Regulation Number 33 of 2020 concerning the National Unit Price Standard.

Cak Imin had previously asked President Joko Widodo to revise the presidential regulation. This presidential regulation is related to the budget for official travel of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD).

"I have entrusted it to Mr. Prabowo. The DPRD is the most pitiful creature in the world. God willing, the revision of Presidential Regulation 33 will be completed," said Cak Imin at the opening of the 6th Congress in Nusa Dua, Bali, Saturday, August 24.

Cak Imin views that the implementation of Presidential Regulation 33/2020 which standardizes the DPRD work budget is inappropriate. This is detrimental to DPRD members in regions with sufficient fiscal capacity.

Often, council members often dig into their own funds when traveling on official trips. In fact, according to him, many DPRD members still have responsibilities for their campaign expenses in the last legislative election.

"I understand very well that this legislative candidate succeeded with the sweat of financing and all the sacrifices. I know many have left debts here and there. I know there are those who have pawned their SK 5 years ago, until today it has not been paid off, I know," explained Cak Imin.

On the one hand, the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives appreciated the work of his cadres so that PKB succeeded in obtaining additional parliamentary seats in the 2024 Legislative Election. Cak Imin is also proud that he can be a vice presidential candidate (cawapres) even though he did not win the 2024 Presidential Election.

"The first time we can attend, especially the General Chairperson, to color the electoral stage and give a new color to the 2024 presidential election. This success certainly also brings the spirit of the cadres for 'total football' in fighting in the 2024 Election," said Cak Imin.

"Alhamdulillah, we actually have more seats in the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI). We should be grateful for this success together, the hard work of the cadres, supporters, sympathizers of PKB, and all the forces and the community," he added.
