Jokowi Attends Golkar National Conference To PAN Congress But Absent At The Congress, PKB: We Understand

NUSA Dua - Deputy Secretary General of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Syaiful Huda admitted that his party understood the absence of President Joko Widodo at the 6th PKB Congress which was held on Saturday, August 24 evening.

The Palace has informed PKB that Jokowi was unable to attend Bali because he already had the same agenda.

"It seems that he has an agenda that cannot be abandoned. We understand and for PKB there is no problem, because there are still many momentum and other events that may be attended by President Jokowi," said Huda at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, Saturday, August 24.

Although Jokowi attended the Golkar Party National Conference (Munas) and the PAN Congress which was held in Jakarta a few days ago, Huda did not mind Jokowi's absence from his party.

This is because Jokowi's presence at the Congress tonight was represented by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and Coordinating Minister for Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Hadi Tjahjanto.

"He sent the Vice President and the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, I think it is enough to represent the congress in Bali," said Huda.

In addition, the elected President of 2024 Prabowo Subianto and several Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) figures were also present at the highest decision-making forum ahead of the change of PKB management.

Tonight, thousands of administrators at the regional level will evaluate the leadership of PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar for the past five years. A decision was also made to determine who would lead the PKB for the following period.

In addition, the PKB ranks also held a number of trials related to, for example, programs or outlines of parties in the management for the next five years. PKB itself has announced that it will join the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government.
