M Ramli, Head Of Central Lombok Gemel Village Who Corruption Of Village Funds Sentenced To 5 Years In Prison

The panel of judges at the Mataram Corruption Court, West Nusa Tenggara sentenced the Head of Gemel Village, Jonggat District, Central Lombok Regency, M Ramli to five years in prison. M Ramli is a defendant in the 2019-2022 village fund corruption crime (DD). "The judge decided that the defendant M Ramli was legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption as in the primary indictment," said Head of Special Investigation Unit of the Central Lombok District Attorney Bratha Hariputra in Mataram, Antara, Thursday, August 22. The verdict given by the panel of judges was less than the demands of the Public Prosecutor (JPU), which was 7 years in prison, but in addition to being sentenced to 5 years in prison, the defendant was given a fine of Rp. 300,000,000. "With the provision that if the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for 3 months," he said. In addition, the defendant had to pay compensation in the amount of Rp969,787,012 provided that the convict did not pay the replacement money no later than 1 (one) month after the court's decision had permanent legal force. "So his property can be confiscated by the Public Prosecutor and auctioned off to cover the replacement money," he said. He said that in the event that the convict does not have sufficient assets to pay the replacement money, he will be sentenced to imprisonment for 2 years. "Determining the detention period that has been served by the defendant is deducted entirely from the sentence imposed," he said. Previously, the Central Lombok District Attorney's Office named Gemel M Ramli Village Head as a suspect in the alleged corruption case of village funds for the 2019-2022 fiscal year, on February 27, 2024. From the Inspectorate Inspection Result Report (LHP), it was found that state losses of around Rp. 969 million were more in the management of village funds from 2019-2022. In this case, there have been dozens of witnesses who have been examined, starting from the Gemel Village Head, BUMDes management, the Activity Implementation Team (TPK), Village Apparatus and several partners working on various programs in the village.

One example of state losses is that there is a program that is budgeted for using village funds, but is carried out using the council's Pokir funds, and there is a program that is not in accordance with the volume.
