76-year-old Grandfather Burned To Death At His Home In Koja, North Jakarta

JAKARTA - An old man with the initials AH (76) was found burned to death when the flames burned his house. The victim died from being roasted by fire in the bathroom.

The fire incident occurred on Jalan Lagoa Canal, Koja District, North Jakarta, Sunday, November 17, in the early hours of the morning.

"The sick victim could not walk, was found dead in the bathroom," said one firefighter.

The fire incident was reported to have occurred at around 00.32 WIB. North Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. deployed 5 fire engines to the location to extinguish the fire.

"There were 25 personnel deployed to extinguish the fire. The cause was suspected to be an electrical short circuit," he said.

After the fire was successfully extinguished, officers evacuated the search for victims. It turned out that the victim was found dead in the bathroom of his house.

Furthermore, the victim's body was evacuated to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, for a forensic identification process.
