PDIP Gives New Tasks Yasonna After Being Hit By Jokowi's Reshuffle

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto revealed that his party had given a new assignment to Yasonna H Laoly after being reshuffled by the cabinet.

The former minister of law and human rights (menkumham) was tasked with winning the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada).

"After the reshuffle, we will attract Pak Laoly to be more active in winning the regional elections," he said, Tuesday, August 20.

Not only that, Yasonna was also assigned to oversee the world of national law. Hasto emphasized the importance of creating a just legal system.

"In building reforms, our legal system must be fair, so that this legal system really ensures that we are a state of law, not a state of power," he said.

Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated a number of new ministers who would fill the post for the remainder of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet (KIM), namely Bahlil Lahadalia who was appointed as esdm minister replacing Arifin Tasrif, Supratman Andi Agtas was appointed minister of law and human rights replacing Yasonna Laoly, Rosan Roeslani also filled the position of minister of investment/head of BKPM replacing Bahlil, besides being also appointed by Angga Raka Prabowo as deputy minister of Kominfo.
