Judicial Commission Examines 3 Judges Who Sentenced Ronald Tannur Free

The Judicial Commission (KY) conducted an examination of three judges at the Surabaya District Court (PN) who gave acquittal against Gregorius Ronald Tannur in the murder case of Dini Sera Afrianti.

Public Relations Officer of the Surabaya High Court Bambang Kustopo said the examination of the three judges was carried out at the Surabaya High Court

"That's right, now KY is at the High Court office," said Bambang, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 19.

The three judges examined were Erintuah Damanik with Mangapul and Heru Hanindyo. The examination was carried out by a number of investigators from the Judicial Commission at around 11.00 WIB.

Bambang emphasized that during the examination, his party only limited to facilitating the place. Meanwhile, the examination was carried out by the KY team themselves.

When asked who was being questioned other than Erintuah Damanik CS, Bambang admitted that he did not know anything. However, he confirmed that only the three judges were still being questioned.

"(Examined) what I heard was the assembly (Erituah Damanik, Mangapul, and Heru Hanindyo)," he said.

It is known, on Wednesday (24/7), the Judge of the Surabaya District Court, East Java, acquitted the defendant Gregorius Ronald Tannur, the son of an inactive DPR member Edward Tannur, from the indictment related to the murder of the victim Dini Sera Afriyanti (29).

The chairman of the Panel of Judges, Erintuah Damanik, stated that the defendant was deemed not legally and convincingly proven to have committed murder or mistreatment that resulted in the death of the victim.

"The defendant was not legally and convincingly proven as in the first indictment of Article 338 of the Criminal Code or the second Article 351 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code Or the third Article 359 of the Criminal Code and 351 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code," he said.

The judge also considered that the defendant was still trying to help the victim during critical times as evidenced by the defendant's efforts to take the victim to the hospital for help.

"Freeing the defendant from all charges by the public prosecutor above," he said.
