JAKARTA - Head of the Presidential Communication Office Hasan Nasbi emphasized that his role is not only to deal with political attacks on the government, but also to convey the achievement of priority programs in a transparent manner to the public. "This is not a matter of preventing, but we must provide understanding to the public, for example there is information that is disinformation in nature," said Hasan Nasbi at the Indonesian Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Antara, Monday, August 19. According to Hasan, this office will focus on delivering clear and clear information about what has been achieved by the Government. "What is clear is that we must convey the results of the government's priority program so that the public can get clearer and clearer information about what the government is doing openly," he said. If there is information that is disinformation or distortion, it will provide a correct understanding to the public about what is actually being done and achieved by the Government. Hasan emphasized that his role is not about "repulsing" negative news, but rather ensuring that people get accurate and comprehensive information about government policies and achievements. "If there is information that is disinformation in nature, issues that are distortion in nature, there is slander, there are news that is not true, maybe not the language that wards off, but conveys something so that people can understand what is really being done, what has been achieved," he said. The political observer and founder of the Cyrus Network Survey Institute emphasized that democracy in Indonesia will continue to run according to the ways and cultures that have developed in this country. Hasan hopes that the current open climate of democracy, which allows people to criticize, report, and become a means of control, will be maintained. Despite concerns about democracy, he emphasized that people need not worry.

He added that the main focus is on the need for an effective government, which will support the survival of a healthy democracy in Indonesia.
