JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo inaugurated Dadan Hindayana as Head of the National Nutrition Agency today, Monday, August 19. This activity was held at the State Palace, Jakarta at around 09.30 WIB. The activity began by singing the anthem Indonesia Raya. A number of ministers and officials were present at this activity, including Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Hadi Tjahjanto, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto to Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad. Furthermore, the inauguration began by reading out the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 94/P of 2024 concerning the Appointment of the Head of the National Nutrition Agency. President Jokowi then led the taking of the oath of office. "I swear that I will be loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will carry out all laws and regulations as straight as possible for the sake of my service to the nation and state," said Jokowi, dictating the oath of office that Dadan followed at the inauguration. "That in carrying out my duties, I will uphold the ethics of my position, work my best, with a full sense of responsibility." From the information summarized, Dadan is a lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). Meanwhile, Jokowi formed the National Nutrition Agency after signing Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 83 of 2024 concerning the National Nutrition Agency on August 15, 2024. This institution is led by a head and is tasked with fulfilling national nutrition. The Presidential Regulation regulates the target of fulfilling nutrition which is divided into four groups. This rule is stated in Article 5 of the Presidential Regulation of the National Nutrition Agency. The four groups are students at the level of early childhood education, basic education, and secondary education in the general education environment, religious education, special education, special service education, and pesantren education. Then children under the age of five, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers.

The National Nutrition Agency is thought to have been formed to smooth out the Free Nutrition Food Program which is Prabowo Subianto's flagship program. The trial will be carried out in schools in a number of regions in Indonesia in collaboration with the private sector.
