Regarding NIK Qualifying Profits, The Jakarta KPU Holds A Plenary Meeting Determining The Fate Of Dharma-Kun

JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) of DKI Jakarta plans to hold a plenary meeting to discuss the status of the Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana pair as a candidate for governor and prospective deputy governor of DKI from an individual route, on Monday 19 August.

The plenary meeting was held after the alleged profiteering of the population identification number (NIK) of the KTP which expressed support for the Dharma-Kun pair in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada in November.

The allegation of profiteering of NIK as a condition of support for the Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana couple has been widely discussed by the wider community.

Responding to this, the Head of the Technical Division of the DKI Jakarta KPU Province, Dody Wijaya, revealed that his party plans to hold a plenary meeting on Monday (19/4/2024) to discuss the status of Dharma-Kun as a reading and reading of the individual route after there were many complaints about profiteering of ID cards.

"We are going to the stages of determination related to the KPU's decision to fulfill the terms of support for individual candidates. We are certainly waiting for recommendations from Bawaslu as to what kind, we will consider, understand, what are the recommendations of Bawaslu friends of DKI Jakarta Province," said Dody.

In addition to waiting for recommendations from the DKI Jakarta Bawaslu, Dody admitted that he could not provide an conclusion whether the DKI Jakarta KPU could cancel Dharma-Kun's validity status in the DKI Jakarta Pilkada because his party would still wait for the results of the plenary meeting.

"Of course we will take into account, even if the previous stages have passed, yes. However, this was a form of our transparency and openness. We will respond, see, and make decisions in plenary meetings. We will hold a plenary meeting of the chairman and members of the DKI Jakarta KPU on August 19, 2024," he explained.

Previously, the Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana pair was declared to have passed the factual verification of the requirements for supporting the cagub and cawagub of DKI Jakarta from an independent route.

The couple were declared eligible to register for the Jakarta gubernatorial election after pocketing more support requirements than required.

However, the passing of the independent couple was followed by a stir due to a number of residents to two children of the former Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, who admitted that his ID card NIK was used to meet the minimum requirements for Dharma-Kun support.

Not only the community, even former DKI Governor Anies Baswedan through his X account had revealed that the ID card NIK belonged to two of his children unilaterally as a condition for support for Dharma- Kun through an individual route in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election.
