Charli XCX Wins BRIT Awards 2025 As Songwriter Of The Year

JAKARTA - A prestigious award was won by Charli XCX at the 2025 BRIT Awards. With his achievements this year, Charli was named Songwriter of the Year.

Several categories were announced first by the organizers before the event on March 1. The prestigious event will be held at The O2 Arena London, England.

Charli's victory over the honorable category was appreciated by Damian Christian as chairman of the 2025 BRIT Awards committee. He revealed how Charli's work had a major influence in the UK and global music industry.

"Charli has had an extraordinary year, bringing its experimental electronic and pop flows from the underground wave to the heart of mainstream culture. The writing of Charli's song is unique, bold, and innovative without stopping," he quoted NME, February 26.

"After being one of the leading UK songwriters for several years, it has brought its expertise to a higher level with its global phenomenon Brat. I am delighted he has been recognized for this very appropriate award," Damian continued.

In addition to the best songwriter, Charli XCX is also listed in several other categories that will be announced on D-day events. He had the opportunity to win Artist of the Year, Pop Act of the Year, Song of the Year, Pop Act and Dance Act.

The album BRAT is considered a masterpiece capable of giving big breakthroughs in the pop industry. No wonder this album is also recorded as the winner of the Mastercard Album of the Year in the same event.

Apart from Charli XCX, The Cure has also returned as the nominee for this year's BRIT Awards. Even the legendary band, The Beatles, was nominated for the best song thanks to Now And Then, who was reborn in 2024.
