Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri became the supervisor of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony in the At-Taufiq Mosque courtyard located in front of the PDIP DPP Party School on Jalan Lenteng Agung Raya, South Jakarta.

Megawati was originally invited to the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) to take part in the national ceremony of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day led by President Joko Widodo as the ceremony inspector.

At the PDIP DPP, the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia entered the ceremonial field at around 09.00 WIB. A moment of the ceremony began, the ceremonial leader gave a report to Megawati on the readiness of the flag-raising troops.

"Report, the Red and White flag-raising ceremony is ready to be held," said the ceremonial leader, Saturday, August 17.

Furthermore, the text of the proclamation was read by Komaruddin Watubun, the text of Pancasila by Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Ganip Warsito, and the reading of the 1945 Constitution (UUD) of the Republic of Indonesia by Yoseph Aryo Adhi Dharma.

The proclaimer's daughter then read out the mandate of the ceremony in front of the resting ceremony participants. On that occasion, Megawati stated that the proclamation contained a very important message of struggle, in which every sovereign citizen decided to determine the fate of the nation and the fate of the homeland in his own hands.

"Therefore, Bung Karno said that only the nation that dared to put the fate of the nation and the homeland in its own hands would stand strong," explained Megawati.

He continued, the proclamation of inflamed the spirit of independence and innerness to the people. It is this spirit of independence that makes the Indonesian people know no fear when dealing with Dutch soldiers who intend to colonize the country again.

"This independent spirit makes the people dare to fight various forms of oppression, both political, economic, and oppression by using the law as a tool of power," he explained.
