The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Is Investigating Allegations Of Corruption In The Procurement Of X-Ray By The Ministry Of Agriculture's Quarantine Agency

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is again investigating allegations of corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan). This time the procurement of static x-rays, x-ray trailers or containers at the Agricultural Quarantine Agency is suspected to be a bancakan.

"The KPK has started an investigation into alleged corruption in the procurement as such," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, August 16.

Allegations of corruption are said to have been investigated since 12 August, continued Tessa. "The investigation process is currently underway, for the number of suspects, the initials and positions of suspects cannot be conveyed at this time," said a spokesman with the investigator's background.

In this case, the KPK has asked the Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) to prevent six people from leaving the country. The prevention is based on Decree Number 1064 of 2024 and is valid for six months.

Tessa detailed that the six people who were prevented had the initials WH, IP, MB, SUD, CS and RF. "The action to prohibit traveling abroad is carried out by investigators because the presence of the person concerned in Indonesian territory is needed in the context of the investigation process of alleged corruption as above," he concluded.
