Bali Immigration Arrests 6 Foreigners Working In Salons And Clinics

BADUNG - Immigration Class I Special Office Officer for TPI Ngurah Rai, Bali arrested six Foreign Citizens (WNA) from various countries who worked illegally on the island of Bali.

The six foreigners are known to work in salons as hair stylists and also as clinic receptions, as well as nail ornaments or nail artists.

Head of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) Bali, Pramella Yunidar Pasaribu said the Ngurah Rai Immigration office carried out an operation to control foreigners in the Canggu area, North Kuta District, Badung Regency, on Wednesday (14/8).

"This operation involves a total of 85 divided officers

"a six team to control foreigners," said Pramella, Thursday, August 15.

In the operation, the team conducted a sweep of

15 points in the Canggu area and managed to catch six foreigners.

Of the six foreigners, five women and one man. They with the initials KDK (40) male Foreigner Ivory Coast works as hair stylist, CLJ (37) from Australia works as a hair stylist.

Then, LT (36) from Russia works as a nail artist, NV (34) from Russia works as a hair stylist, KD (31) from Ukraine works as a hair stylist, and DO from Russia works as a clinic reception.

The operation, based on immigration intelligence information, was obtained by many foreigners who were active

in the MSME sector which is considered to be able to take job in the local community.

"The target of this operation is to target foreigners who are suspected of carrying out activities in the MSME sector such as vehicle rentals, salons or hair workers and nails, beauty clinics or facial treatment, tattoo artists, accessories traders, yoga instructors, swimming instructors, diving instructors, photographers, and so on who do not have permits in accordance with applicable regulations, so we will arrange them," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Class I Immigration Office of TPI Ngurah Rai Suhendra said these foreigners entered Indonesia on average in July 2023 and some entered in April 2024.

"So the range is from mid-July 2023. Finally, some entered on August 3, 2024. They did not enter at the same time. So there were about 4 people who entered in 2024, the rest entered in 2023," he said.

Meanwhile, the visas they use are average investor visas or Itas investors..

"Their goal is to actually come to Bali to make an initial investment. However, when we were conducting surveillance in the field we found these foreigners carrying out inappropriate activities," he said.

Foreigners who do not own salons but their status as workers and salon owners where they work are owned by Indonesian citizens (WNI) and there are also foreigners.

"There are Indonesian citizens, some are owned by foreigners. We are currently checking the licensing of their place of business to find out who the guarantor of the business is," he said.
