One Elderly Dies In A Great Fire In Penjaringan Jakut

One person was reported killed in a fire incident in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Wednesday, August 14, morning.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Gulkarmat Service, Satriadi Gunawan, said the victim was female and was elderly.

"It's true that 1 died. Grandmas," said Satriadi when confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, August 14.

When asked about the chronology until the victim's condition, Satriadi could not convey it. He also did not know the identity of the victim who died.

"There is no further information yet," he said.

Meanwhile, one of the residents around Opik said the victim, Sopiah, was 70 years old.

'The victims of grandmothers are approximately 70 years old on behalf of Sopiah,' short Opik.

As previously reported, the land fire that occurred in Pejagalan, Penjaringan, North Jakarta (Jakut) Wednesday, August 14, contained a number of semi-permanent buildings filled with used goods stalls.

As many as 120 houses were mapped with 35 stalls burned down. Head of North Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, said that 120 houses were burned down or semi-permanent with 35 stalls.

"There are 120 houses (and) 35 stalls on fire," he said.

A fire broke out during an electrical short from one of the houses in the area. Until finally the fire spread to flammable materials and then grew.

A total of 18 units and 95 North Jakarta firefighters were deployed to speed up the blackout.
