Central Jakarta Tourism Sub-dept. Only Gives Reprimand Sanctions To The Orchardz Sawah Besar Hotel Regarding The Beauty Contest Of Transvestites

The Central Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-dept. (Sudin Parekraf) also spoke about the holding of a transgender beauty contest held at the Orchardz Hotel, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta.

"We will make a warning letter. We will fly it to the office, later the agency will write the first warning letter for the hotel," said Head of the Tourism Industry Supervision Section (Kasie) of the Central Jakarta Tourism Sub-dept., Budi Suryawan when confirmed, Thursday, August 8.

The sanctions given are only a warning letter, not up to the closure of the hotel.

"In accordance with Pergub 18 of 2018 there will be no closure, because it's just an error (administration) So we just have a written warning later," he said.

Even so, Budi said, his party only provided recommendations to the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency.

"Later, a written warning will also come from the service," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the case of a transgender beauty contest or transgender contest held at the Orchardz Hotel, Sawah Besar District, Central Jakarta was handled by a joint team from the Sawah Besar Police, Sawah Besar Koramil, Central Jakarta Tourism Sub-dept. and Central Jakarta Satpol PP.

"Earlier, during the meeting we conveyed it to Pak Purba (Kasatpol PP Central Jakarta) and it will be followed up (Satpol PP)," said Sawah Besar Police Chief, Kompol Dhanar Dhono Vernandhie to VOI, Wednesday, August 7.

Although there is no criminal element, the EO of the organizers and the hotel is threatened with receiving a written warning for violating the permit.

Currently, the Sawah Besar Police are examining five witnesses from two Hotel representatives and three from the Event Organizer (EO) and the chairman of the event committee.

Based on the results of the examination, the National Police emphasized that they had never issued a crowd permit for the event.

According to Kompol Dhanar, crowd permits are regulated in Perpol Number 7 of 2023, which includes activities such as festivals and other major events.

"There is no crowd permit issued by us, and no permit application has been received. We deeply regret this," he said.
