Bangladeshi Attorney General's Turn To Resign

JAKARTA - Bangladeshi Attorney General Amin Uddin has sent his resignation letter to President Mohammed Shahabuddin, the Daily Star newspaper reported.

"I have sent a letter of resignation to the president. I mentioned a number of personal difficulties as the reason for my resignation in the letter," Uddin told the newspaper.

He was appointed Bangladesh's attorney general in 2020, the report continued.

Protests began in Dhaka and across Bangladesh following the announcement of a multi-day "non-cooperative" action with authorities by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement on Sunday (4/8).
