Densus 88: HOK Terrorist Had Assembled Many Vest and Pan Bombs

JAKARTA - The National Police's Densus 88 Anti-terrorism Unit has named HOK as a terrorist suspect. From the results of the investigation, it was discovered that the young man had assembled various types of bombs.

"The person concerned also tried to make several bomb variants, making a vest bomb, a belt bomb, a backpack bomb, a pan bomb and so on, but still couldn't, from the information or confession of the person concerned," said Densus 88 Anti-terror Spokesperson Sr. Comr. Aswin Siregar to reporters, Monday, August 5.

It is suspected that the various types of bombs he assembled would be used in a suicide attack. Fortunately, the young man's efforts were still deadlocked.

"So he had tried several of them until we arrested him yesterday, he still couldn't," he said.

Previously, suspect HOK was said to have made a bomb in his room. In fact, his actions caused a fire and an explosion.

"The person concerned (suspect HOK) had tried (to assemble a bomb) in his house, he ignited or burned it, then there was an explosion," said Aswin.

HOK is a terrorist suspect who was arrested in Batu, Malang, East Java, on Thursday, August 1. From the examination, the young man planned to commit suicide at a place of worship

In this case, HOK is suspected of Article 15 in conjunction with Article 7 and/or Article 9 of Law Number 5 of 2018 concerning Amendments to Law Number 15 of 2003 concerning the Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2002 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Terrorism into Law.
