Komdigi Closes Telegram Channels With 6 Thousand Customers Affiliated With Online Gambling

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital has closed the Telegram messaging application channel which is affiliated with online gambling promotions (judol), namely @SP777 live slot gacor which has 6,644 subscribers.

Not only that, through the Directorate of Information Application Control (PAI) on Friday, November 15, Komdigi has also closed one Instagram account @1nsert_kiss, with 160 thousand followers, who promote online gambling.

The Directorate General of Information and Public Communication (IKP) of the Ministry of Communication and Industry, Nursodik Gunarjo, reiterated that the government is not playing games in cracking down on content, accounts, or sites affiliated with online gambling in Indonesia.

"We reiterate that according to the direction of President Prabowo Subianto and Minister of Communication and Trade, Meutya Hafid, we will continue to be committed to strengthening efforts to eradicate online gambling indiscriminately with various parties," said Nursodik in his official broadcast.

Nursodik also reminded the public to remain vigilant against online gambling advertisements, which are now considered to be more varied.

According to him, currently the perpetrators are continuing to look for ways to advertise online gambling, especially by utilizing sites with poor security systems so that they are easily infiltrated by the threat actors.

"The perpetrator will then insert an online gambling link to the successfully compromised website," continued Nursodik.

For this reason, the Ministry of Communication and Digitized website managers to always maintain the security of managed sites by updating regularly and checking their vulnerabilities to strengthen the site's security system.

Meanwhile, from October 20 to November 14, 2024, the government has taken down as much as 297,393 content, with details of 274,583 on the website and IP, 12,597 content on the Meta platform, 6,280 on file sharing, 2,472 on Google/YouTube, 1,313 via platform X, 107 content on Telegram, and 40 via TikTok.

Menkomdigi Meutya Hafid has also asked Electronic System Operators (PSE) who operate and take advantage in Indonesia to participate in fighting online gambling.

"So we urge, asking everything, of course, who is also benefiting from Indonesia's broad market share, Indonesia's broad social media market share, to contribute," said Meutya on Thursday, November 14 at the Ministry of Communication and Industry office.
