JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has accelerated the completion of the construction of the Integrated People's School (SRT) 1 Regency of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing), Riau Province. With the progress of work having reached 92.59 percent, the government targets the completion of all construction by August 8, 2026.
Minister PU Dody Hanggodo while directly reviewing the progress of the construction of SRT 1 Kuansing on Tuesday, August 4, asked for the final or finishing stage to be completed immediately. According to him, acceleration must continue to be accompanied by attention to the quality and cleanliness of buildings so that all facilities are ready to be used for teaching and learning activities.
"What has not been completed will be completed immediately, especially the finishing stage, so that all learning activities can run well," said Dody.
Dody emphasized that the construction of public schools is not enough to pursue the completion of the main building, but supporting facilities and infrastructure must also be ensured to function properly. So, it can create a safe and comfortable educational environment for students.
SRT 1 Kuansing Regency was built on an area of 7.5 hectares with a total building area of 13,081.84 square meters. The integrated educational environment complex consisting of 25 mass buildings includes elementary, junior high and high school buildings, multipurpose buildings, kitchens, houses of worship, dormitories, sports facilities, utility networks and school area arrangements.
The construction of SRT 1 Kuansing was carried out by the Riau Strategic Infrastructure Implementation Unit with the implementing contractor PT Duta Rama - PT Gala Karya (KSO). The project cost Rp. 226.98 billion sourced from the State Budget (APBN) for the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year.
With a target completion date of August 8, 2026, the Ministry of PU encourages that the remaining work can be completed according to schedule by prioritizing construction quality standards.
