JAKARTA - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) views the importance of the state to immediately ratify the Draft Law on Child Care.

Deputy Chairperson of KPAI Jasra Putra considered this important as an effort to prevent violence against children in parenting.

Recently, there was severe abuse against two children under five with the initials MFW and his brother with the initials RC in North Jakarta.

The siblings became victims of abuse by their foster parents (ortu) at a rented house on Jalan Tipar Cakung, Sukapura Cilincing Village, North Jakarta, Tuesday, July 30.

MFW's child fell into a coma and is still being treated in the ICU room of the Kramat Jati Police Hospital due to bleeding in the brain membrane. In addition, MFW also suffered bruises on the head, chest, back and stomach.

Meanwhile, RC children suffered bruises on their faces, chest, stomach, and legs, and experienced psychological trauma.

The North Jakarta Metro Police have named a man with the initials AA (23) and his wife TAS (21) as suspects for severe child abuse.

The two victims were entrusted by the victim's biological parents to the perpetrators.

The persecution was carried out since July 21, 2024, which was caused by MFW and RC parents not sending money for the cost of children's lives that he entrusted.
