Gerindra Has Not Thought About the 2029 Presidential Election, Prasetyo Hadi Choose to Focus on Government Work

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party Prasetyo Hadi said his party has not thought about the 2029 Presidential Election agenda, including the discourse of support for the pair of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka for two periods.

Prasetyo made the statement when asked for a response regarding President Joko Widodo's 7th political safari which was associated with support for Prabowo-Gibran.

According to Prasetyo, the government's attention is currently focused on completing various priority programs.

"The important thing is to focus on working first. We haven't thought about it," said Prasetyo at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Friday, June 26.

He said that there was still much work to be done by the government, ranging from employment issues, teacher welfare, the organization of the civil service, to downstream and industrialization programs.

Therefore, according to Prasetyo, discussing the 2029 political contestation is not a priority.

Prasetyo also conveyed his congratulations to Joko Widodo who began to return to political activities after his health condition improved.

"As a figure and statesman, I think there is no problem," he said.

However, he emphasized that the government's current focus remains on completing various work programs, not on discussing electoral politics.
