2 European Countries Difficult To Get Russian Oil Supply Impact Of Ukraine's Policy On US 'Filling'

JAKARTA - The United States (US) is behind Ukraine's policy of banning Russian oil from transiting in Kiev. The regulation interferes with the distribution of Russian oil to European countries such as Hungary and Slovakia.

This policy that harms Russia is a recommendation from the European Union for the US 'hit'. Talks related to the recommendations were held in Brussels, Belgium.

"I would like to add that Washington is behind Brussels," said Russian Foreign Ministry (Kemenlu) spokesman Maria Zakharova, quoted from Tass, Sunday, August 4.

Zakharova added a big interest in the US to ensure the European Union has an oil or US energy dependence.

"This guarantees Washington's economic bonus and political control over the European Union. This is also why the long-term contracts of EU countries with Russia are hated by the United States. This is why the Nord Streams were detonated," Zakharova said.

Previously, Ukraine stopped its policy of allowing Lukoil's oil transit in its territory as part of the process of being disbursed to European countries.

The rules came after Ukraine blacklisted Lukoil, which is a Russian oil and energy company.

Szijjarto previously stressed that Ukraine's halt to pumping of Russian oil undermined the energy security of the two EU countries and would be a direct breach of the Association Agreement with the EU.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto stressed the rule undermined the energy supply of his country and Slovakia, which are members of the EU. He stressed this violates the Association Agreement with the EU.
