Police Hunt For The Perpetrator Of The Ikebo Digiyai Papua Pospol Shooting

JAKARTA - Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ignatius Benny Adi Prabowo, said that the Dogiyai Police are currently still pursuing the perpetrators of the Ikebo Police Post shooting.

"The shooting occurred Thursday (1/8) and there were no casualties in the incident," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, August 2.

According to him, the shooting incident occurred on Thursday (1/8) at around 11.00 WIT. At that time, three unidentified people approached the police post located at Ikebo Market.

Suddenly two of the three residents took out homemade firearms and shot them at the police post.

From two shots to the pospol, while one shot hit the windshield of Pospol Ikebo.

After shooting, the three men immediately fled towards Mauwa.

"Currently, it is not certain who the perpetrators are because members of the Dogiyai Police together with the Cartenz Peace Task Force are still pursuing the perpetrators of the shooting," said Kombes Benny.

The Head of the Dogiyai Police, Kompol Sarraju, separately said that efforts to anticipate further action, the Dogiyai Police were more active in patrols.

"The situation in Dogiyai as a whole is currently relatively safe," said the Police Chief.
