Not Sweet Drinks, The Cause Of Children Washing Blood At RSHS Bandung Congenital Disorders

JAKARTA - Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) Bandung revealed that the pediatric patient who was undergoing dialysis or hemodialysis at the hospital was not due to sweet drinks.

Consultant for Child Nephrology at RSHS Prof. Dany Hilmanto said that pediatric patients who are currently undergoing dialysis have a history of long kidney failure or have congenital disorders.

"Because most of the causes of dialysis in children are two reasons, namely structural disorders and the presence of gglomerulus disease in the kidneys," he said in Bandung, Wednesday, July 31, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said this was a response to many pediatric patients who were doing dialysis treatment at the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) Jakarta, which is currently viral on social media.

He emphasized that generally in kidney failure diseases due to factors that often eat unhealthy foods do not immediately cause symptoms in the disease.

"That from year to year the diseases caused by unhealthy foods go through a long stage, he has to go through hypertension first, diabetes mellitus first, obesity which is a risk of kidney failure," he said.

He explained that kidney disorders in children are different from kidney disorders in adults.

As for cases that are often found, he said, congenital disorders.

"Because at this time the age of over five years is indeed the most due to gglomerulus disease. So the most common among them is the leaky kidney disease," said Dany.

RSHS Bandung Nephrology Division staff, Dr. Ahmedz Widiasta, said that currently there are around 20 children undergoing regular dialysis every month at the Hemodialysis Polyclinic RSHS Bandung.

He said that until now the number of pediatric patients undergoing dialysis due to kidney failure is still relatively normal.

"If the number of cases does not increase or decrease in cases of children with chronic kidney disease who get regular dialysis, it is around 10 to 20 children per month," he said.
