SUKABUMI - A number of students at SDN Cilimus were forced to carry out teaching and learning activities at SMPN 5 Jampangtengah, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, due to four classrooms at SDN in Cilimus Village collapsed. "SDN Cilimus has five classrooms, but four classrooms collapsed in early July 2024 during heavy rain. Luckily the incident occurred at night so that no one became victims, but the impact was that we had to ride for teaching and learning activities at SMPN 5 Jampangtengah," said one of the teachers at SDN Cilimus Habudin in Sukabumi, Wednesday. According to Habudin, because there is no longer room to carry out Teaching Learning Activities (KBM) at SDN in Nangerang Village, his party is forced to turn the teacher's room into a class and of course with conditions like this KBM is not optimal because students have to sit together. The number of students attending SDN Cilimus is 118 people with five teaching staff. Therefore, so that the KBM can still be carried out, especially in the new school year, some of the students must study in the classroom belonging to SMPN 5 Jampangtengah. In addition, with the limited classrooms at both SDN Cilimus and SMPN 5 Jampangtengah, his party had to divide the KBM shift into two shifts so that class IV to VI students entered the afternoon, while class IIII entered the morning. "Actually, there are still some rooms, but we don't dare to use them because the building is already weathered, worried that it will collapse and could cause casualties. In fact, we often prohibit children from playing around collapsed buildings and are rotten/rustrated," he added. SDN Cilimus has coordinated with the Sukabumi Regency Education Office (Disdik) to immediately make improvements, because with conditions like this, KBM is not optimal because children have difficulty concentrating. Meanwhile, the teacher of SMPN 5 Jampangtengah One Roof of Pahrul Suganda admitted that the condition of the building at SMPN 5 was not much better than SDN Cilimus from six classrooms, three of which had been leaked and the walls were damaged, but all spaces could be used. Then for the teacher's room and the office, the condition is no longer roof. With the collapse of four classrooms at SDN Cilimus, his party lent a classroom for the use of SDN student KBM which is only a few meters from SMPN 5. "For this year's class, the number of students studying at SMPN 5 from class VII-IX is 87 people, while for teachers or teachers there are nine people," he said.

For the repair or renovation of the SMPN 5 building, his party received information that it would be carried out next year and it is hoped that it will be carried out soon so that the KBM becomes comfortable so that students can be more enthusiastic about going to school.
