Iran Condemns Israel's Attack On Beirut Targeting Hezbollah Commander Fuad Shukr Alias Al-Hajj Mohsin

JAKARTA - The Iranian Embassy in Lebanon condemned Israel's attack on Beirut on Tuesday, July 30 evening local time.

"We strongly condemn the aggression of a coward and sin-filled Israel targeting the southern suburbs of Beirut, which claimed the lives of a number of martyrs and injured," the embassy said in a post on X quoted by CNN, Wednesday, July 31 in the early hours of the morning WIB.

Lebanese news agency NNA reported one person was killed in the attack and several others injured in an Israeli missile attack.

Israel claimed responsibility for the targeted attack on Hezbollah commanders.

The IDF carried out a targeted attack in Beirut against commanders responsible for the killing of children in Majdal Shams and the killing of a number of other Israeli civilians, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.

Most recently, CNN reported an Israeli official calling Israeli forces targeting Fuad Shukr, also known as al-Hajj Mohsin, in the attack.

Shukr is a senior adviser to the leader of Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah, according to the US government's website. He served in the highest military rank in Iran-backed militant groups.
