Ujang Iskandar Becomes A Corruption Suspect Related To The Kobar Regency Government Capital Fund Participation Of IDR 1.5 Billion

JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives from the NasDem faction, Ujang Iskandar, was named a suspect in the alleged corruption case of irregularities in capital investment funds from the West Kotawaringin Government worth IDR 1.5 billion.

The Head of the Attorney General's Office, Harli Siregar, said that the figure was not a state loss. Instead, the value of equity in capital from the West Kotawaringin Government (Kobar) to the Argotama Mandiri Plantation Company in 2009.

"Well, actually, from the capital participation fund, it's one and a half billion," Harli told reporters, Friday, July 26.

However, the value of state losses caused cannot be conveyed. The reason is still being calculated today.

Harli actually stated that the investigation of Ujang Iskandar was a follow-up to the court's decision which stated that the NasDem politician was involved in the alleged corruption case.

In that case, there have been two convicts based on the decision of the Supreme Court in 2020 with a criminal sanction of 5 years and 7 years in prison.

"Actually, two suspects have been determined, namely on behalf of Daniel, the private sector and Reza, the President Director of Perusuda," said Harli.

"From the consideration of the Supreme Court's court's decision, it was stated that there was involvement as a commissioner at this regional company and also his capacity as West Kotawaringin Regent against the alleged corruption in the capital investment," he continued.

Meanwhile, Ujang Iskandar has been named a suspect after being questioned and a case title was carried out at the Attorney General's Office.

With this determination, Ujang Iskandar was temporarily detained at the Salemba Rutan at the AGO branch for the next 20 days.
