JAKARTA - France's high-speed rail service was paralyzed just hours before the opening of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The cessation of operation for public transportation modes in France is thought to be due to cyber attacks.
Citing NBC News, French Transport Minister Patrice Vergriete said the attack was coordinated and targeted several French high-speed rail lines on Thursday evening 26 July or Friday 26 July WIB.
"Malicious acts are coordinated targeting several TGV routes last night and will be very disruptive of traffic by the end of this week," he said in his post on X on Friday, July 26.
Patrice still has not disclosed the party responsible for the attack. However, he condemned attempts to disrupt public aviation activities ahead of the opening of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
"I strongly condemn this criminal act that would jeopardize the holiday departure of many French people," he said.
French national rail operator SNCF said it was trying to restore service after the incident.
