Controlling The'Turbo Engine' In East Java, Gus Halim Is Encouraged By PKB To Push Forward Against Khofifah

JAKARTA - The National Awakening Party (PKB) has encouraged the Chairman of the East Java PKB DPW, Abdul Halim Iskandar, to run for the East Java Regional Election against Khofifah Indar Parawansa.

Deputy Chairperson of the PKB, Jazilul Fawaid, assessed that Abdul Halim or Gus Halim deserved to be a candidate for governor because he was the controller of the PKB'Turbo Engine' in East Java.

"Because the head of the region, if he goes forward, the engine will definitely start immediately. The PKB engine is a big engine, the turbo engine is in East Java 30 percent, especially with PDIP almost half," said Jazilul, Thursday, July 25,

Jazilul admitted that Gus Halim's name had not been discussed with PDIP because it was still a personal opinion. However, according to him, Gus Halim will indeed be proposed as the East Java cagub because he has the power to run the party engine. Moreover, PKB can nominate the cagub and cawagub pairs themselves.

"This is my personal opinion, because considering the need for a figure who immediately turns on the engine. If I personally do that, who can turn on the engine, Mr. Halim Iskandar in East Java. The PKB engine in East Java is under the control of Gus Halim," he said.

Nevertheless, continued Jazilul, Gus Halim's candidacy was hampered by the KPU regulations which required DPR members to be elected to resign if they ran for regional heads. So, he said, it was a consideration for PKB.

"But Gus Halim was elected by the DPR RI, that's why once again I asked the KPU to give stricter rules regarding what his name was, so he had to resign. The vice president didn't, the president didn't, why was it the turn of political party cadres to be hampered? Even though there was a political party area, that's all that thought was a consideration for PKB related to regional head candidates in East Java," explained the deputy chairman of the MPR.
