SURABAYA - The East Java Regional Police have named 13 members of the Setia Hati Terate Brotherhood (PSHT) as suspects in the case of beating Adjunct Inspector of Police Dua (Aipda) Parmanto in Jember.

East Java Police Chief Inspector General Imam Sugianto said his party had arrested 22 people in the case. However, only 13 people can be legally processed.

"KNH as the provocateur, then 10 members of PSHT as the attacker and carrying out the persecution we detained. We have arrested two people who have been named as minor suspects. For these two people, we apply the child law," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 25.

It was also revealed that the two underage perpetrators would be called by their parents to be given guidance, while the other perpetrators were applied in accordance with the statutory article.

"From this incident, we apply Article 160 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 170 of the Criminal Code, or Article 212 of the Criminal Code, or Article 213 of the Criminal Code, or Article 216 of the Criminal Code jo. Article 55 of the Criminal Code," he said.

The Kapolda appealed to the general chairman and all members of the PSHT and the silat college in East Java to jointly make this incident a momentum to clean up.

Inspector General Imam assessed the need to improve management so that these incidents do not happen again.

It is also hoped that PSHT will become a pencak silat college that is loved by the community, not to be increasingly hated by the community.

Such actions, according to the Kapolda, will trigger security instability, especially in East Java. Therefore, his party agreed that the incident in Jember would be used as a starting point.

For the time being, he continued, PSHT activities in Jember were frozen until the legal process against the perpetrators of this persecution was completed.

"In accordance with the rules or articles of association and household budget (AD/ART)," said PSHT Chairman R. Moerdjoko, anyone who has violated the law will be prosecuted.

"If indeed our member, the person concerned in his actions violates the rules in SH lotus or violates AD/ART and so on, yes of course we will not provide legal assistance. We submit it in accordance with applicable legal provisions," he said.
