Getting Drunk, Man In Medan Stabs The City Transportation's Driver To Death

JAKARTA - Police have succeeded in arresting the perpetrator of the stabbing of city transportation (angkot) driver named Gading Wijaya Manurung (52) to death on Garuda Raya Street, Perumnas Mandala, Medan City, North Sumatra.

Head of Percut Sei Tuan Police, Commissioner Adjutant Jan Piter Napitupulu, said the identity of the perpetrator was with the initials RAB. The perpetrator was arrested at his hiding place on Kampung Pala Street, Sei Rampah Village, Sei Rampah District, Serdang Bedagai on Sunday, March 21.

The police also confiscated evidence in the form of clothing used when killing the victim and a knife.

"The perpetrator has been named a suspect and detained. Currently, he is still undergoing further legal proceedings," said Police Commissioner Adjutant Jan Piter as quoted by Antara, Monday, March 22.

Previously, the stabbing occurred on Sunday, March 21 in the morning. The incident began when the victim was at the scene of the incident which is the base of the public transportation on Garuda Raya Street, Perumnas Mandala.

At that time, the victim saw that the perpetrator was drunk and was angry with another public transportation driver. Then the victim rebuked the perpetrator.

The perpetrator did not accept the reprimand, so he was involved in an argument with the victim. The commotion heated up until finally the perpetrator immediately took out a knife from behind his waist and stabbed the victim.

Instantly, the victim collapsed. The victim's friends who saw the incident immediately took the victim to the hospital to get medical help.

However, the victim was helpless. The victim died with nine stab wounds to his body.
