The Presidential Office In IKN Begins To Be Filled With Furniture, Some Are Taken From The Jakarta Palace

The Presidential Secretariat has started to fill in furniture and office equipment to prepare President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) based in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN).

"It is ongoing, our presidential office is preparing the seats needed. I as Kasetpres and colleagues of the Presidential Secretariat officials starting today and on 25 (July) continue to fill the needs of furniture that must be prepared for the President," said Head of the Indonesian Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono when met at the Presidential Palace Jakarta, Wednesday.

Heru explained that President Jokowi began his office in IKN at the end of July 2024 starting by inaugurating and reviewing toll roads on July 28, 2024.

The Presidential Secretariat together with the Ministry of PUPR also continues to prepare all the needs of the President to have an office at IKN.

Heru explained that some furniture was done through procurement, such as tables, lights, chairs and office equipment. However, the procurement has not been completed.

Therefore, a number of furnitures were prepared by bringing those already at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.

President Jokowi previously said that he was ready to have an office in IKN, East Kalimantan (Kaltim), as soon as possible if there was a green light signal or a sign of readiness.

He conveyed this when giving a press statement after watching the opening match of the President's Cup at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency, West Java, Friday 19 July.

"Once the green light is ready, I will have an office in IKN," said the President when asked by the media about the readiness to have an office in IKN, based on the recording received in Jakarta, Friday.
