KPU Says 2024 Pilkada Voter Data Still Has The Potential To Change Before DPT Is Determined

The General Election Commission (KPU) of Bantul Regency stated that voter data in the 2024 Pilkada still has the potential to change before the KPU's fixed voter list (DPT) is determined by the KPU on September 23.

The Coordinator of the Educational Socialization Division for Voters, Community Participation and Human Resources of the Bantul Regency KPU, Wuri Rahmawati, said that the process of matching and research (coklit) of voter data for the 2024 Bantul Pilkada had been completed with 748,766 voters being bulked.

"So, the hack is the result of updating the data, then the stages are the preparation and determination of the DPS (temporary voter list), later at the DPS there will be input, response. Now, in that process the data can change, so as long as there is no determination of the DPT, it is still possible that the data will move," he said in Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), Wednesday, July 24, confiscated by Antara.

Thus, he said, even though the voting data editing stage by the voter data updating committee (pantarih) by visiting homes to residents has been completed, residents who meet the requirements as voters, but have not been recorded, can be included in the voter list.

"So, after the bankruptcy, then the plenary DPHP (updating voter list), after that the preparation of the DPS. After the DPS we plenaryize, then we give the public the opportunity to provide input and responses to the DPS that we have compiled," he said.

In addition to voter data that has not been registered as voters, also when there are registered voters, but have died or have been declared ineligible as voters, they can be crossed out of the voter list.

"If someone dies, of course there must be administrative evidence, so sometimes from elections to elections we have crossed out the data on death, but in the next election another name appears because there is no administrative population document in the form of a death certificate," he said.

He said the conditions that became the KPU's guideline in deciding to cross out the data of the deceased voters were instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs using a death certificate, not with a letter or death report.

"So, before there is a DPT, it is possible that the voter data will still exist, and we ask for responses and input from the community after the determination of the DPS, if the DPT is determined for the 2024 Pilkada on September 23, the day after the determination of the candidate pair for regional head," he said.
