Disagree With Anies' Criticism, Democrats Call Heru Budi A Talent Bureaucrat

Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the DKI Jakarta Democratic Party, Mujiyono, assessed that Anies Baswedan's criticism of the DKI Provincial Government during the leadership of the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi stinging his citizens was not correct.

Heru, according to Mujiyono, is a leader with a bureaucratic background whose performance is oriented towards results, not just public assumptions.

"Usually, if the politicians who lead the results are not yet real but the news is widespread. This is different from Heru Budi Hartono, a genuine bureaucrat who is always oriented towards tangible results and can be achieved," Mujiyono told reporters, Tuesday, July 23.

This member of the Democratic Faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD assessed that Heru only made data arrangements to ensure that the budget for distributing social assistance was more targeted.

Given, the budget value for DKI Jakarta social assistance spending is now very large, reaching Rp. 18.1 trillion or more than 22 percent of the total 2024 APBD.

"In my opinion, social assistance or subsidies must be ensured to be right on target. Anyone who is not entitled should be abolished from the list of social assistance recipients," said Mujiyono.

"In our opinion, the courage to act unpopular is an important character for the Governor of Jakarta to organize the chaos that has occurred for a long time," he added.

Previously, Anies admitted that he intends to run again as a candidate for the Governor of DKI because he wants to make the condition of Jakarta and its governance as when he was governor for the 2017-2022 period.

"We want that atmosphere back, we want the atmosphere of the provincial government which is full of love for its citizens, the provincial government who sees the people like their own brothers and children, not the provincial government who is stingy with its citizens, not the provincial government that limits the benefits received by its citizens," said Anies, Saturday, July 20.

"Therefore, we will make sure to return all the benefits that were cut. Because of what it is because it must be able to provide benefits to the people here," he added.

Heru responded to this statement. Heru also asked Anies not to make him a scapegoat in seeking public support to run again in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

"Please compete in the regional elections, but don't scapegoat me," said Heru when met at Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta.

Heru Budi claims that he has not stopped the social assistance program that has been running since the era of Anies' leadership in Jakarta. Instead, Heru admitted that he corrected the data on beneficiaries so that they were more targeted.

"There is no activity for the community, I will stop it. Nothing. I run everything, but I tidy it up according to the existing rules," said Heru.
