Call Anies-Kaesang Unmatched In The DKI Gubernatorial Election, NasDem: We Wait For Next Episode

Chairman of the Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the NasDem Party Willy Aditya assessed that Anies Baswedan had not yet partnered with PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep in the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election.

That's why NasDem did not open up opportunities to pair Anies with Kaesang, even though the two met the General Chairperson of NasDem Surya Paloh today.

"It seems that the Anies-Kaesang duet is not yet available. Not yet for DKI," said Willy at NasDem Tower, Monday, July 22.

Moreover, Surya Paloh has given support to Kaesang if he decides to run as a governor election in Central Java.

This can be seen from Kaesang's high electability in the Jakarta gubernatorial candidate market in a number of surveys.

"So if you read the existing data so far, bro Kaesang is quite comfortable and quite accepted by Central Java, and Mr. Anies is at the DKJ. So maybe it's not a match yet, right. We'll just have to wait for the next episode," explained Willy.

In addition, Willy said that Anies and Kaesang did not really have the right to be paired as candidates for regional heads. This is based on the political rationality that Surya Paloh observed.

"One goes north, the other goes south. One goes east, the other goes west. Right?" said Willy.

The NasDem Party previously announced that it would nominate Anies Baswedan to become a candidate for Governor of DKI Jakarta in the 2024 Pilkada. This was decided by the General Chairperson of NasDem Surya Paloh after meeting with Anies.

So far, there have been 3 political parties that intend to carry Anies as a candidate for the Governor of DKI Jakarta, namely NasDem, PKB, and PKS. However, NasDem and PKB have not officially issued a decree on their submission to Anies because they do not yet have a cawagub.

Meanwhile, only PKS has offered Cawagub to accompany Anies. PKS carries Anies in the Jakarta gubernatorial election and paired him with the Deputy Chairperson of the PKS Syuro Council Sohibul Iman.
