Teguh Prakosa Inaugurated As Mayor Of Solo To Replace Gibran Held Friday Night

The inauguration of Teguh Prakosa as Mayor of Surakarta to replace Gibran Rakabuming Raka was carried out tonight in Semarang, Central Java.

Deputy Chairman of the Surakarta City DPRD, Sugeng Riyanto, said that with the inauguration, the plenary session with the main agenda for the ratification of the dismissal of the Mayor of Surakarta and the announcement of the appointment of the Deputy Mayor of Surakarta as Mayor of Surakarta were postponed.

"It is pending, not canceled but postponed. The decree for dismissal and appointment of the deputy mayor is from the Ministry of Home Affairs, then the governor or province is missed. The province wants the inauguration to be accelerated," said Sugeng, Friday, July 19.

He said the inauguration which was planned to be held on July 23 was accelerated to today at 19.00 WIB.

"So the plenary, which is planned to be postponed at 15.00 WIB, is likely to be next week. So the inauguration will be first, so it will be reversed," he said.

Regarding the mechanism for the plenary session before the inauguration, he said, it was optional.

"What must be completed during his resignation, yesterday. The next plenary session is the reading of the Decree from the Ministry of Home Affairs through the province regarding the acceptance of the mayor's resignation plus the appointment of representatives to become plt or as well as mayor. This means that actually socialization or reading the acceptance of resignations and appointments can be after the inauguration or after," he said.

With the inauguration, it means that Teguh Prakosa will officially serve as Mayor of Surakarta replacing Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Meanwhile, Gibran is also scheduled to attend the inauguration ceremony at the Gradhika Bhakti Praja Semarang Building.
