Police Name 2 Suspects Of Chinese Tomb Iron Looting In Kubu Raya West Kalimantan

The Kubu Raya Resort Police (Polres), West Kalimantan named two suspects in the case of dismantling 14 Chinese ethnic graves in the Bhakti Suci Kubu Raya cemetery area.

"The case has been handled by the police, where two people have been named as suspects, namely HF (42 years) and IR (21 years)," said Head of Subsidy for Public Relations of the Kubu Raya Police, Aiptu Ade on the Ambawang River, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 18.

Aiptu Ade said the modus operandi of the perpetrators to carry out the demolition was to steal iron which was used as material for the tomb building which was then sold to collectors. And based on checking at the scene, evidence was found, namely iron which was used as material to establish the tomb taken by the perpetrator.

The police are currently conducting an in-depth investigation regarding the suspect's mode of destroying the Chinese ethnic tomb. The loss from the destruction of the Chinese tomb is estimated at IDR 200 million.

"This case is in the stage of an in-depth investigation to find out the total number of tombs damaged by the suspect and whether there are other suspects. And what motives have made the perpetrators morally damage the Chinese graves in Sungai Raya sub-district," he said.
