JAKARTA - A militant group attacked a military base in northwest Pakistan, killing eight security personnel, after a suicide bomber crashed a vehicle loaded with explosives into a perimeter wall.
In the next operation, security forces killed 10 attackers targeting bases in Bannu, on the border with the North Waziristan region, known as the hotbed of Islamist militants, and close to the Afghan border.
