Ridwan Kamil: August, IKN Core Area As Wide As Monas, God Willing, It Will Be Completed

JAKARTA - The curator of the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) Ridwan Kamil explained that the core area of the new capital city, which is an area of the National Monument (Monas), Jakarta, is estimated to be "inSya-Allah" to be completed in August.

"It is said that it is finished, it means the state palace and buildings around it. So, don't get me wrong, think that IKN has done everything, that's decades, but the core area is like Monas, God willing, it will be finished," said RK as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 12.

Therefore, he invited the public to come and directly ensure the development of the IKN core area. "If you only consume news, and never come to see, it's different from seeing it, that's why the term is seeing is believing," he said.

During a visit to IKN on Thursday (11/7), Kang Emil said that the task of a curator is to ensure that what is built is in accordance with the vision and mission, therefore he also re-checks the core area.

"I checked the Presidential Palace, the room like Monas, the square is like that, I also checked the surrounding buildings. It's just that the water is connected (connected) from the lake, the water supply should be under control," he said.

He explained that the provision of water to the core area of IKN takes time and is expected to be completed in a month.

"The water is already in the lake, but the pipe takes time. So it's like, sorry, it's like Jakarta, the Jatiluhur is ready, but it's still in progress from Jatiluhur to Jakarta," he explained.

For him, IKN water is the same, the lake already exists, but it looks to the center of the point is still in progress. "Everything is done, Mr. Basuki's promise (Minister of Public Works and Public Housing) should also be completed in a month," he said.

For preparations for the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day on August 17, he continued, it would be spectacular because it is a historic event because Jakarta's status is no longer the capital city. However, he said the development at IKN would be dismissed on August 10 to support the event.

"It's more about security. So, the preparation for August 17, the Paskibraka must practice rows. The safety of this ceremony, if there are still many crowds, will interfere with circulation and so on," he explained.

"So if Mr. Basuki stated that he would be closed first, actually to ensure that the ceremony on the 17th was in preparation for no disturbance. So we pray for it to be smooth so that the historic events we see succeed," he said.
