President Putin Accuses The West Of Taking Actions That Are Similar To Classical Colonialism

JAKARTA - Russian President Vladimir Putin likened the use of Western rules in exchange for international law to classical colonialism.

Speaking at the BRICS Parliament Forum, the Kremlin Leader provides an overview of the behavior of the ruling elite in countries known as countries with billions of gold dollars.

"Acting contrary to historical logic and often even harms the long-term interests of their own people, they are now trying to build a kind of order based on the so-called rules they have never seen, discussed and accepted by anyone," said President Putin, quoted by TASS July 12.

"These rules are written and recast for every situation in the interest of those who think of themselves as extraordinary and have given themselves the right to dictate their desires to others," he continued.

"That is exactly in the best tradition of classical colonialism. It is a clear effort to replace legitimate international law, an attempt to create a monopoly on the truth of the right. Such monopoly is destructive," he explained.

"The pressure is increasing on those who have their own position," he continued. Contrary to international legal principles, what applies is strong coercion, unilateral sanctions, and selective application of trade rules," said President Putin.

He added that the elites of the so-called billions of gold countries vehemently opposed the efforts of BRICS members to create a multipolar world order.

"We are well aware that the formation of a world order that reflects a real balance of power, geopolitical reality, economy, and new demographics, is a complicated process and in many ways, unfortunately, even painful," the president said.

"Efforts by members of BRICS and other developing countries are facing strong resistance from the ruling elites from so-called gold billions of countries," concluded President Putin.
