Smooth Steps Bobby Nasution Advances North Sumatra Gubernatorial Election, Jokowi: The Party Is Smart

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has responded to the number of political parties (political parties) that have expressed support for the Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution to run for the North Sumatra gubernatorial election (North Sumatra).

There is an assumption that Bobby has smoothed his way to get a party promulgation recommendation because of his status as Jokowi's son-in-law.

However, Jokowi did not think so. According to Jokowi, political parties (political parties) are able to attract who deserves to be promoted in the 2024 Pilkada.

"Ask parties. The parties are smart. Usually what electability looks like," said Jokowi after visiting Bob Bazar Hospital, South Lampung, Thursday, July 11.

Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) who was accompanying Jokowi immediately responded. According to the general chairman of the PAN, his party also carried Bobby because he saw the potential for victory.

"We choose the winner, please," said Zulhas.

Jokowi again emphasized that political parties must use the electability of a figure as a consideration for the investigation.

"What is seen is usually electability. The party is smart, especially the chairman," added Jokowi.

It is known, so far Bobby Nasution has received official support from the Golkar DPP and the PKB DPP. Meanwhile, those who have stated support signals are PAN, Democratic Party, NasDem Party, and Gerindra Party.
