President Prabowo Will Soon Sign the New Jampidsus Presidential Decree, Here's the Name of the Leak

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to sign a Presidential Decree (Keppres) regarding the appointment of the new Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) in the near future.

The Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi said that the Presidential Decree is expected to be completed and signed within one to two days, after going through the discussion mechanism in the Final Assessment Team (TPA).

"We ask for time to be discussed according to the mechanism in the Final Assessment Team. Insyaallah 1-2 days will have a decision and the President will sign the Presidential Decree on the appointment of new officials," said Prasetyo at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday.

Proposal for New Officials in the Attorney General's Office

Prasetyo explained that the Attorney General ST Burhanuddin had submitted a list of proposed names of candidates for Jampidsus to the President since last week. This step was taken after the previous official, Febrie Adriansyah, officially resigned.

In addition to the position of the Jampidsus, the Presidential Decree also includes the proposal to appoint a number of other strategic officials in the environment of the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung). However, the Minister of Law and Human Rights is still reluctant to disclose the names of the proposed names before the Presidential Decree is officially signed by the President.

However, Prasetyo confirmed that the Head of the Attorney General's Asset Recovery Agency, Kuntadi, was one of the strong names proposed by the Attorney General to fill the position of Jampidsus.

Background of Jampidsus' Long Resignation

The filling of the position of Jampidsus was carried out following the resignation of Febrie Adriansyah on Saturday morning (11/7). On the same day, Febrie was officially named a suspect in the alleged corruption and money laundering criminal case (TPPU).

The legal case that ensnared Febrie is currently being handled by the Attorney General's Office after being transferred from the National Police's Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortastipidkor).
