Kaesang Political Safari Response, NasDem: Ordinary, Attracting Attention Because Of The President's Son

Secretary General of the NasDem Party, Hermawi Taslim, responded to the Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep who began to carry out political safaris ahead of the 2024 Pilkada nomination.

Kaesang previously visited the headquarters of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS). Kaesang is said to be continuing his political safari to the Golkar Party.

According to Hermawi, Kaesang's visit was a normal thing. Kaesang's political maneuver is indeed considered Hermawi to have stolen attention just because he is the son of President Joko Widodo.

"Kaesang as a young Indonesian citizen, I think he also has the right to socialize himself, right? That's normal. It only attracts attention because he is the President's son, ahead of the election," said Hermawi at NasDem Tower, Central Jakarta, Thursday, July 11.

So far, Hermawi admits that there has been no schedule for a meeting between Kaesang and the NasDem elite. However, NasDem and PSI have built communication related to the 2024 Pilkada.

"Communication must be established because in this election there is also quite a lot of communication between candidates, candidates in NasDem, candidates in PSI. Yes, like in other parties," explained Hermawi.

Furthermore, Hermawi revealed that Kaesang's name was included in one of the figures considered to be promoted as a candidate for regional head. However, NasDem has not yet determined which regions have the opportunity for his party to carry Kaesang.

"We consider all the potential for the nation. We collect all the ingredients, we gather the comments, we will plencate later," he said.

On Monday, July 8, Kaesang and PSI staff visited the PKS DPP Office. PKS DPP chairman Mardani Ali Sera revealed the contents of the meeting between the two parties. Mardani revealed that Kaesang visited the PKS headquarters as an initial gathering considering that the two political parties had collaborated in several areas ahead of the 2024 Pilkada.

However, Mardani admitted that PKS offered Kaesang that PSI should support the Anies Baswedan-Sohibul Iman pair for the Jakarta Pilkada.

"Mas Kaesang came to the DPP, of course, we welcome him, called political communication and this is an initial meeting, so there will be more to the initial friendship. But we offer to Mas Kaesang so that PSI can support Anies Baswedan and Sohibul Iman," said Mardani at the Parliament Complex, Tuesday, July 9.

Meanwhile, Golkar Party Chairman Airlangga Hartarto said his party would also meet with Kaedang on Thursday 11 July 2024 afternoon. It is scheduled that the meeting will be held at 17.00 WIB at the Golkar DPP.

According to Airlangga, the discussion of the meeting later was about the 2024 Pilkada. Airlangga is ready to put his ear on the political plan of President Joko Widodo's youngest son.

"We haven't heard of it. I haven't heard of it, haven't met it yet, so tomorrow (today) we'll hear," said Airlangga at the Jakarta Presidential Complex, Wednesday, July 10.
